There are a few key measurements that need to be taken to determine the number of steps you will need to keep your deck code compliant. First, pick the location for your Proline deck and mark where the edges will fall. Next measure down 2 ½” from the bottom of your door trim and mark with a pencil. Then walk to the edge of where your deck ends (on the side where you would like your steps) and measure the height to your mark (the one that is 2 1/2” from your door trim). Finally, use the matrix here to pick the number of steps needed for your new Proline deck.
Yes, absolutely! That is the beauty of a modular deck, if you want to add more in the future it is very easy to do so. The railing can be custom added to turn what you have, into what you want!
The beauty of the Proline deck is how easy the assembly can be completed, using tools most households have. Here are the tools needed to complete the assembly of your deck.

There is one big thing you can do to keep your Proline deck in tip-top shape for years to come. You will want to seal the wood on the platform and steps about 30 days after you install your deck. Please be sure to follow all instructions for whichever sealant you choose to use. Aside from sealing your deck, there is no maintenance required.
Proline decks are manufactured/ built-in Hohenwald, Tennessee.
Proline decks have weight limitations specific to the deck size. The 2018 International Residential Code requires Proline decks to support 50lbs per square foot. This means our 1 mod deck (4’x5’) can support 1,000lbs.
Your Proline deck was engineered and tested to support 50lbs per square foot. An average hot tub would add roughly 100lbs pounds per square foot. If you are planning on putting a hot tub on your Proline deck, we recommend you speak to someone familiar with engineering and reinforce your Proline deck to be able to support the added load.
There are many things to consider when choosing the Proline deck that works best for you and your home. First, we advise you to measure and mark where the corners of the largest deck you are considering would land. Then take a step back and imagine what your new deck will look like once it is assembled. Pay special attention to any crawl space accesses and ensure you can still use them. If you are still having trouble, please feel free to contact one of our Proline deck specialists.
